Research Creation: Undisciplined Mapping of UBC
Project members Ella Zhang and Yar Stav are at work on the initial stages of creating undisciplined maps of the UBC campus. Maps that intentionally call attention to how land use, the layout of buildings, names, divisions, and the physical environment generally, telegraphs information about what is valued here and why, how knowledge is divided or connected, where proximity/connection is encouraged and where distance/disconnect is expected. This work involves documenting and observing, learning and unlearning.
