Research Creation: Undisciplined Map of UBC
Project members Ella Zhang and Yar Stav are at work on the initial stages of an undisciplined interactive map of the UBC campus — one that calls attention to how the land use, the layout of buildings, names of buildings and streets etc., and the physical environment generally, telegraphs information about what is valued here and why, how knowledge is divided, where disciplinary proximity/connection is expected and where distance is acceptable, etc.. The map will evolve as a collaborative art/knowledge project that can continue to be built upon over time. This project will involve documenting and observing, learning and unlearning about the interactions between knowledge and the land.
